Micromobility UK: The Evolution Of Urban Transport
Micromobility UK at the University of Warwick takes place in September each year where industry leaders gather to discuss the future of urban transport and the inclusivity of shared micromobility for disabled people. The event is the UK’s only in-person expo dedicated to micromobility. It covers everything from bicycles and e-bikes to cargo vehicles and new low-speed zero-emission vehicles, like e-scooters.
This year we were invited to attend. We went to showcase our wide variety of inclusive cycles and show the options available to people with disabilities. We also spread the word of our free new loans programme, Pathways to Pedals.
The day was packed with insightful talks and panel discussions. We were able to attend a workshop on accessibility led by the Motability Foundation, Dr Kay Inckle from Wheels for Wellbeing, and CoMoUK. It was inspiring to hear about the push for more inclusivity in urban mobility. The need for legislation that ensures disabled people are not left out, is so important.
There was a wide variety of stalls and vendors, like ours, showcasing the latest micromobility vehicles and cutting-edge technologies, allowing visitors to get up close and experience the innovations shaping the future of transport.
However, the real excitement was at our stand! We were thrilled to welcome over 100 visitors, with many eager to try out our cycles on the campus test route. The Van Raam Fun2Go, Azub Ti-Fly, and Tomcat Thunderbolt were the clear favourites amoung attendees.
Mark Urbanowski, Principal Engineer for Micromobility at WMG and the event organiser, even commented, “You by far were one of the most popular stands. We were so incredibly grateful for your part on the day.”
Overall, it was an exciting day of networking and sharing our mission to make cycling accessible for everyone. We left with new contacts and fresh ideas to follow up on, all thanks to the fantastic turnout and engagement.
A big thank you to the University of Warwick and the event organisers for making this happen!
