Ride The World Differently was created from a simple belief: everyone deserves the chance to experience cycling in nature, in a way that feels safe, joyful, and genuinely accessible. Shaped by lived experience, curiosity, and a love of adventure, the company designs cycling holidays for disabled riders and events that put people first. At its heart is a focus on slowing things down, removing barriers, and creating space for confidence, connection, and memorable moments on two wheels, three wheels, or more.
A key part of making this possible is the use of the Van Raam Fun2Go, which they hire through Get Cycling CIC to support their inclusive cycling holidays and events. This side-by-side cycle plays a central role in enabling shared riding experiences and accessible travel in real-world environments.
Claire and Rob, founders of Ride The World Differently, share a passion for inclusive adventure, nature, and meaningful support on the road.

Meet Claire
“I believe cycling should feel like freedom, not a test of confidence.”
For Claire Sharpe, inclusive cycling is about far more than simply getting from A to B. Through Ride The World Differently, she creates experiences that bring people into nature at a pace that feels right for them – whether that’s a relaxed woodland ride or a multi-day cycling adventure somewhere new.
“For me, cycling is about connection. To landscapes, to people, and to that quiet sense of possibility that comes from moving under your own steam.”
Ride The World Differently grew out of Claire’s desire to remove the barriers that prevent people from taking part in cycling holidays and outdoor experiences. Her focus is on designing adventures that work for Disabled riders, carers, families, and anyone who may have previously felt that a cycling holiday “wasn’t for them”.
Thoughtful planning, accessible routes, inclusive language, and genuine care all sit at the centre of her approach.

Meet Rob
“I love being alongside people as they ride.”
For Rob Dalby, creating the right atmosphere is just as important as planning the route itself. Out on the road, he focuses on making riders feel calm, supported, and free to enjoy the moment.
“I care about how an adventure feels as much as how it runs.”
Rob’s approach has been shaped by the lived experience of taking his Disabled daughter cycling, giving him a deep understanding of what meaningful support and inclusion actually look like in practice.
He is particularly passionate about inclusive cycling and non-standard cycles, helping ensure riders feel seen, safe, and genuinely included throughout the journey.
“For me, it’s about shared experiences, connection, and helping people enjoy the journey in their own way.”

Q&A
Can you introduce yourselves and Ride The World Differently, and share how the Van Raam Fun2Go fits into your cycling holidays for disabled riders and events?
We’re Claire and Rob, founders of Ride The World Differently, a holiday and events business aimed at delivering premium holidays for less-abled and disabled riders. The Van Raam Fun2Go is the perfect bike for many disabilities and offers something for most riders.
When you take inclusive cycles out onto shared paths and real routes, what becomes possible for riders that wouldn’t be on a standard cycle?
Our riders enjoy the paths and trails on adaptive bikes just the same as able-bodied riders enjoy them on standard bikes. In fact, we accompany them on standard bikes.
You talk about cycling in nature being safe, joyful, and genuinely accessible. How does the Fun2Go help bring that to life when you’re out on a ride?
The Fun2Go is enabling for a wide variety of users, allowing everyone to enjoy the paths and trails together. It’s such an inclusive experience.
What changes when you move from structured, controlled indoor sessions to real-world routes as part of a holiday or group adventure?
Controlled sessions are an ideal taster and give us the opportunity to try out many bikes in a safe environment. The real magic happens when we take the bikes into the open air.
How do you go about choosing and shaping routes so that cycles like the Fun2Go feel confident, comfortable, and genuinely usable in the real world?
We ride all our routes on the Fun2Go first and work with infrastructure managers to ensure we have full accessibility on each route.
The Fun2Go is all about side-by-side riding and shared experience. What difference does that make to the relationships between riders, carers, and family members on your trips?
It allows us and our riders to connect in a way standard cycles do not allow. Forming lasting memories and strong emotional bonds.
When people are using cycles like the Fun2Go on longer rides or multi-day trips, what role do carers, family members, or support staff play in shaping the experience?
We rely on carers and support staff in case something goes wrong. Some things are out of our control, like breakdowns and the weather. It’s how our support teams react to these unforeseen events that really makes the difference.
Looking ahead, what do you hope inclusive cycling holidays for disabled riders like yours will make possible for people who use non-standard cycles, and what needs to change for that to feel like a normal part of cycling life?
We believe that Ride The World Differently provides people who use adaptive bikes with a premium holiday that they just can’t get anywhere else.
