Get Cycling nominated for York Community Pride Award
We are delighted to be nominated for ‘Best Community Project’ in the York Community Pride Awards!
The category, which has been sponsored by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, is for projects carried out by informal non-recognised voluntary groups that exemplify what can be achieved when people work together.
We must thank whoever nominated us and recognised our work as a Community Interest Company and our mission to get more people cycling. We’re incredibly proud of our work and to be nominated is already a great honour.
Thank you to The York Press for a lovely article about our nomination, which you can read below:
The awards ceremony will take place on September 28 at the Racecourse and will be hosted by ITV presenter Kate Walby.
Our mission is to ensure that anyone who wants to cycle, has the opportunity to do so. We have a talented and innovative team of mechanics. This enables us to offer the highest quality customer service, assessments, custom builds, maintenance, and repairs.
Founded in 2008 by a family with a passion for cycling and social inclusion. Today it remains an independent retailer with the founders on the board.
We are passionate about sharing all the benefits of cycling to anyone and everyone. Independence, physical exercise, mental wellbeing, liberation, happiness, eco-friendliness, sustainable transport, and the fun and practicality which cycling can offer to everyone and anyone.
We have a general lean towards bringing cycling to those who stand to gain the most from it. We are trailblazers for finding and creating unique cycle adaptions for anyone who wants to cycle.
