New CEO takes the wheel at Get Cycling CIC!

In April 2021, Get Cycling CIC announced a leadership change.
Joanne Mahon stepped into the role of CEO. She replaced founder Jim McGurn.

Joanne had been General Manager before this. She helped grow Get Cycling into a leading provider of inclusive cycling in York and across the UK.

At the time, Joanne said she was excited to build on the organisation’s strong foundations. She wanted to continue offering good value and strong customer support.

From 2021 to now

Since that transition, Get Cycling CIC has continued to expand its impact, helping more people access cycling in ways that work for them.

In 2025, Joanne stepped down from her role as CEO and moved on to continue her work in the inclusive cycling sector with Everybody’s Cycling. Her contribution helped shape the organisation’s direction and growth over several years.

Today, Get Cycling CIC continues under new leadership, with the same clear mission: making cycling accessible, affordable, and inclusive for everyone.

Our ongoing mission

Founded by Jim and Sally McGurn, who remain directors, Get Cycling CIC continues to support a wide range of customers, including:

  • Disabled people and those with additional needs
  • Families and carers
  • Community groups and organisations
  • Individuals returning to cycling

From cycle hire in York to refurbished bikes and specialist cycles, the focus is always on removing barriers to cycling.

Inclusive cycling in York and beyond

We are based in York. We also support customers across the UK.

Our services include:

  • Inclusive and adapted cycle sales
  • Cycle hire, including trikes, tandems, and cargo bikes
  • Repairs and servicing

We focus on removing barriers to cycling. We want more people to enjoy the benefits of riding.

We help people find cycling options that work for them.
