Meet Ellie: Customer Service Coordinator and Social Media Lead at Get Cycling

Today, we’re shining the spotlight on the newest member of the GC team – Ellie!
1. What’s your name and your role at Get Cycling?
Hey! My Name’s Ellie, and I’m the Customer Service Co-ordinator
2. How long have you been working with us?
I can’t believe I’ve been here 6 months already…!
3. What do you enjoy most about working at Get Cycling?
I love how friendly the team are.
4. What inspired you to work in this field?
I absolutely LOVE cycling and want to share my passion with everyone.
5. What’s your favourite type of cycle we offer, and why?
I had a go on the ICE Adventure when I first started working at Get Cycling and loved how nippy it was!
It felt super comfortable and a very smooth ride. I want one for myself!
6. Can you share a memorable moment you’ve had while working here?
So far, it has to be the test ride with two of my colleagues on the nearby cycle route and through the park. Fun times!
7. How do you spend your time when you’re not at work?
Cycling whenever possible. I have 2 bikes – a Dolan road bike and a ladies’ bike with a basket for going shopping.
And when I’m not on wheels, you can find me illustrating children’s books, maps, portraits and more!
8. If you could take any of our cycles on an adventure, where would you go?
I’d take the whizzy ICE Adventure up Givendale, North Yorkshire, which is a really difficult climb on my road bike but would be an absolute breeze on the ICE Adventure!
9. What’s one thing about you that might surprise your colleagues?
I used to live in Spain in the mid 00’s and formed a band there. We supported Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel in a bullring!
10. In your own words, why is the work we do important?
We are providing inclusive cycle solutions for people in our local community and beyond who might not otherwise have the opportunity to get out. Like the rest of the team here at Get Cycling, I want to encourage people to discover the freedom and joy of being on a bike, to show them that with our range of inclusive and adaptable cycles, they can be unstoppable! Unlike mainstream cycle stores and organisations, we won’t put the brakes on your freedom 😉
