Get Cycling CIC Customer Feedback

We are a not-for-profit community interest company and also the UK's largest retailer of inclusive and family cycles for all ages and abilities. We’ve spent twelve years building up our expertise and try-out fleet. Our highly experienced team can also tell you about our ever-changing selection of refurbished cycles and our try-out and assessment facility in York.

"When Benjamin got home from school today, Ian was there with his shiny new trike and you should have seen his face! Ian was brilliant, taking time to get everything set up for Benjamin even though he had a long drive ahead for his next delivery, so many thanks to him.

We are all so excited and I know that Benjamin is looking forward to getting out and about. Luke has already taken him for a spin around the park on it, as you can see! Thank you so much for everything!"

Kim Shepherd

"Great organisation with an ethos for the totally inclusive cycling experience. From the earliest email enquiry through to concrete proposals my contact experience with them has been second to none – helpful, accommodating and charming. We came away as the delighted and excited owners of a beautifully refurbished Huka wheelchair tandem. This shop/organisation is totally unique in the UK: as a flagbearer and cheerleader for change!"

Norman Rush

"My tricycling is transformed! I hadn't realised before just how much my left foot was twisting: I was able to go more steadily and faster today with the new pedals. How could you tell, just from a phone call?"

Eleanor Williams

"What an amazing organisation! I was blown away by the variety of bikes & kit available, and you (& your colleagues) couldn’t have been more welcoming. Dad came with an open mind & went with lots to think about."

Hannah

"I just wanted to say thank you so much for all your help in making Ellie’s wish come true! She has not got off the bike since it was delivered. You have made a young girl very very happy and turned her illness into a positive. Yes she made Dad go out in the snow!"

Carly

"We were lucky enough to take Jessica for her first ever cycling session at Get Cycling. The session was amazing! Thanks to the support and patience of (your staff), Jessica was able to use a suitable bike and cycled all the way to and from Rowntrees Park! Her unbelievable determination and have a go attitude was amazing!"

Lisa Solanski

"Many thanks for the pendulum crank; it works!!! We have just been for a quick try-out on the bikes and cycled 4-5 miles with no trouble at all. This is the first time in over 6 years, so we are delighted."

Lesley Suter

"Fitted the HASE Pendulum Crank today and it’s brilliant thanks. Haven’t been able to ride for a few years and I cannot tell you how good it felt to get back on a bike. Thank you so much for your help."

Keith

"On Sunday I managed to achieve what would have been impossible a couple of years ago. I completed the Ride London 46 mile route! I have a number of complex medical conditions and am unable to do any form of exercise 'upright'. Get Cycling built my Ice Trike Sprint, which has given me the chance to enjoy life again, get out into the countryside and start to achieve things I thought I never would, and for that I am hugely grateful. Not only did I manage to finish the route completely under my own steam but had the best weekend I have ever had (this was also helped by the fact we had chosen the hotel that all of the professional cyclists were staying in). Thank you so much to everyone in your team for making this possible for me."

Natalie Carter

"I was so thrilled and quite emotional that I was able once again to ride a trike thanks to your expert knowledge and obvious dedication to Get Cycling. Your patience, enthusiasm and positive attitude to me as a customer was very evident and a delight to see."

Jayne Foulds

"Thank Heaven for ‘Get Cycling’! The staff are great and their generosity of spirit plus the most amazing array of different bikes that I had ever encountered provided an abundance of answers to my questions."

Rob Brown

"You may not realise what you have managed to arrange for us. We had envisaged a difficult visit with our daughter who could have reacted very badly to a new experience. Add to that two jealous siblings and it could have been a horrible day. You made it a real outing! For a £300 bike, this level of service, including the adaption to the brakes, is very impressive. I hope to meet with your organisation again in the future."

Steve Manderson

"I don’t know how to say thank you for the foresight, inspirational and crazy thinking that led you to believe it would be possible to take a group of random people with disabilities cycling in Germany! You did it and we all exceeded our own expectations. Thank you."

Maggie and Annabelle

"My daughter absolutely loves her new bike and has gone from a little girl who hated going out to play to a little girl whom asks every day ''can I go out on my bike''. She loves it!! Thanks so much."

Ali

"You will remember the trike which we bought on behalf of "The Friends of The Gambia Association" for a disabled girl, called Satang Camara in The Gambia. We have finally managed to deliver the bike and it is giving her so much more freedom. She does not have to rely on being pushed around in wheelchairs which very quickly become rickety in the rough terrain. She has quickly mastered the trike and uses it to travel independently to school. Thank you so much for adapting it for us."

Rob Isdale, Friends of The Gambia Association

"Thank you very much for all your help with Urban's tandem bike. I think Urban's delighted face says it all! He loves his new bike and has been out on it every day since it arrived. He is already cycling about 3 miles a day and we can see him getting stronger before our eyes. It is absolutely perfect. He instantly took to it and wanted to actively pedal right from the beginning. He behaves beautifully on it and is in full sight of us with a seatbelt on at all times, so we now have no safety fears. It means we can now enjoy a leisure activity as a whole family and we all get some relaxation, whilst he gets the exercise regime he desperately needs. It has already attracted a LOT of attention around town and several people have asked for your contact details as they want similar products! Thank you so much for the part you played in making our dream become a reality."

Ros, Phil and Urban Townes

"Many, many thanks for coming up and bringing all your gear. I think that the last couple of days have potentially changed the lives of several people in this region and their families – they just didn’t know what was possible and you have changed that."

Andy Margerison, Dumfries & Galloway Council

"I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the help and advice you gave us and helping us achieve our goal of owning a wheelchair bike. The O Pair is great, we went on our first family bike ride on Sunday and it was so amazing for us to all be riding together. Can you please pass on our thanks to the guy who helped us out on Wednesday too - he was brilliant."

Dawn & John Harrison

"We wanted to say thanks to the team at Get Cycling for the tandem. Georgia absolutely loves it! It rides so well and has solved all our cycling issues. We certainly got some looks when out and about!"

Catherine

"Just a quick email to thank you for your help in setting up Oscar's Hase trike. He really loves it."
