We’ve recently welcomed another Adam to the Get Cycling team. Yes, another Adam.
We already have Adam Hardy, our Customer Service Manager, so when Adam Nicklin joined the team, we quickly realised that two Adams could get confusing!
Thankfully, we had a solution. To keep everyone on their toes and our internal conversations slightly less confusing, our newest Adam became Adam “Nicko” Nicklin.
Nicko joined us as a Technical Support Advisor, bringing a lifelong passion for cycling, experience across different cycling disciplines, and plenty of enthusiasm for helping make cycling more accessible.
We caught up with Nicko to find out more about his role, his favourite cycles, life outside Get Cycling and why he thinks our work is so important.
What’s your role at Get Cycling?
Hi, my name is Adam and I’m a Technical Support Advisor.
How long have you been working with us?
Coming up to three months now.
What do you enjoy most about working at Get Cycling?
The team! Everyone at Get Cycling are super welcoming and we all work so well together. It’s a great environment catering for a great cause.
What inspired you to work in this field?
I’ve cycled all my life, experiencing a variety of disciplines. Getting to share and make the sport more accessible is the ultimate reward.
What’s your favourite type of cycle we offer, and why?
The recumbent tricycles. Their riding position is so unique and feels so planted to the ground.
Can you share a memorable moment you’ve had while working here?
There’s plenty! I’d have to go for sharing a customer’s return to riding after many years before discovering inclusive and adaptive cycles at one of our events. Had the pleasure of riding along and it was a really heartwarming experience.

How do you spend your time when you’re not at work?
Love getting out into nature with the family and out on two wheels (or more) as much as possible. I’m located right next to the Peak District, so I’m usually found exploring there on the MTB or around my local area on the BMX.
If you could take any of our cycles on an adventure, where would you go?
The Ben Nevis range comes to mind… Putting an Azub Ti-Fly or something similar through its paces there would be interesting. I’m up for a challenge!
What’s one thing about you that might surprise your colleagues?
I’m a drummer. I studied Music Technology earlier in life and continue to play the drum kit here and there. Although it may not come as too much of a surprise if I’ve been spotted tapping away to the radio and such!
In your own words, why is the work we do important?
Together, we are helping to put inclusive cycling on the map. We offer our services to encourage people’s involvement with the sport who otherwise might not have the opportunity, shedding light that active independence and freedom is still possible. Catering for the whole of the UK, we work with local authorities and other organisations to help ensure inclusive cycling gets the recognition it deserves. Making cycling truly accessible and inclusive for everyone is at the heart of what we do.
