Winter Wonderwheels: Get Cycling CIC Brings Inclusive Cycles

Winter Wonderwheels, part of the Superhero Series, is one of the UK’s most inspiring inclusive sports events. It is held at Dorney Lake in Windsor. The event brings together disabled people and those with additional support needs. Everyone takes part in a fun, supportive, and accessible challenge.
Whether participants choose to walk, wheel, run, or cycle, the event celebrates achievement, confidence, and the joy of being active.
Supporting riders with inclusive cycles
Get Cycling CIC has proudly supported Winter Wonderwheels by providing a wide range of inclusive cycles, helping more people take part in an event that truly welcomes everyone.
Our fleet has included:
- Tricycles
- Handcycles
- Tandems
- Recumbent cycles
- Wheelchair transport cycles
- Side-by-side cycles
Having access to the right cycle can make all the difference. Events like Winter Wonderwheels show that, with the right equipment and support, more people can experience the freedom and independence that cycling brings.
A shared commitment to inclusion
Supporting Winter Wonderwheels reflects our mission to ensure that anyone who wants to cycle has the opportunity to do so.
Speaking about the event, our former CEO, Joanne Mahon, said:
“This is such a massive honour for us all here at Get Cycling, to allow us to help people discover their inner superpowers by providing cycles to suit a wide range of needs. We’ll be attending with our fleet of incredible cycles and look forward to cheering everyone on!”
Sophia Warner, Paralympian and founder of the Superhero Series, highlighted the importance of partners who help make the event possible:
“We’ve been running these events since 2017 and it’s amazing to see how our super community has strengthened and grown over the years. We’re looking forward to having Get Cycling on board and getting even more superheroes signed up to take part this year, and for years to come!”
These words continue to reflect the shared ambition of creating more opportunities for disabled people to enjoy sport and physical activity.
Why inclusive events matter
Winter Wonderwheels is about much more than completing a distance.
For many participants, it provides the chance to try something new, spend time with family and friends, build confidence, and celebrate what they can achieve. Events like this also help challenge perceptions and raise awareness of the many different ways people can enjoy cycling.

Helping more people discover cycling
At Get Cycling CIC, we continue to support individuals, families, organisations, and community groups across the UK with inclusive cycling solutions.
From our showroom in York, we offer expert advice, demonstrations, cycle hire, servicing, and one of the UK’s widest ranges of inclusive cycles.
We’re proud to have supported Winter Wonderwheels over the years and remain committed to helping more people discover the freedom, independence, and enjoyment that cycling can bring.
