Van Raam OPair Wheelchair Transport Bike
The Van Raam Opair wheelchair tandem tricycle is designed for an adult to ride with a passenger (child or adult) that uses a wheelchair, on the front seat. The rear rider has full control of the steering and brakes. Made in the Netherlands, this is a quality machine and is built to last.

Made to order
Most of our inclusive cycles are built to order. Lead times are usually 8–12 weeks, depending on specification. We confirm current timescales before you order and guide you through every option so the cycle fits your needs.
As an authorised partner of Van Raam, we ensure your OPair is correctly specified, fitted and fully supported.
Who this cycle is for
The OPair is designed for a passenger who cannot cycle independently and benefits from full seating support at the front.
It suits:
-
Children and adults who need trunk and head support
-
Riders who cannot transfer easily to a standard saddle
-
Families who want to cycle together
-
Care settings, schools and day services
The passenger sits in a shaped seat at the front, while the rider cycles from the rear position. This keeps you close together and allows easy communication during the ride.
How it works
The OPair combines a front passenger seat with a rear rider position. The seat includes supportive sides and can be fitted with optional belts and headrest supports.
The low front seating position improves stability and keeps the centre of gravity balanced. Meanwhile, electric assist supports smooth starts and comfortable riding, even with extra passenger weight.
Because the rider sits behind, steering feels natural and controlled.
How it feels to ride
The OPair feels stable and reassuring, even at low speeds. The wide wheelbase improves balance, while the electric assist helps you manage gentle hills and longer distances without strain.
Hydraulic disc brakes provide strong, reliable stopping power. The result is a smooth and confident ride for both rider and passenger.
