Public Bike Try-Out Roadshows

Get Cycling bike try-out roadshows can be run in city centre squares, at major public events, in shopping centres, in parks or car parks, on tennis courts, in the grounds of buildings, indoors at leisure centres over winter: the possibilities are endless.

Our experienced, uniformed teams bring along around 25 cycles, in one of our touring vehicles. The bikes are selected as good examples of modern utility bikes, plus a number of more exotic machines to add to the fun. Typically we include commuter bikes, cruisers, tricycles, tandems, child-trailers, folders, special needs cycles, and fun bikes.

If required we bring a spectacular multi-seat 'Megabike', and we normally bring fun bikes for the under-sevens. We can also bring our four-bike pedal-powered Scalextric racing game. If you prefer the mix of bikes for your roadshow to be balanced one way or the other, let us know and we will oblige. To some extent the contents can be tailored to your budget.

We set up a try-out track and an information desk under an entrance marquee where we give out personalised advice, our own 32-page full-colour beginner’s guides to cycling, and our 17 factsheets on every aspect of cycling – plus your local cycling literature, of course.

We encourage people to try as many of the bikes as possible. We bring music with cycling messages, and create a unique atmosphere. We also encourage local cycling promotion groups and businesses to set up their stands alongside. Our experienced staff ensure the event runs smoothly and safely.

We strongly encourage our clients to involve local cycling groups – for example, cycle trainers, cycle shops, campaign groups, health and activity/sports promotion agencies and national groups such as the CTC and Sustrans. This gives your event greater impact and gives people options for taking their cycling interests further.

Charity Roadshow Events with a Difference

We supply a full planning guide to every client in advance of every event along with extensive marketing and publicity support. We take on as much of the planning, organisational and promotional effort as possible. We supply an event planning guide which highlights what you need to do (not a lot) and what we will be doing. In some cases we can pre-visit: especially where a longer tour is planned.

Promotional support is part of the package. We supply, if required, overprinted full-colour publicity materials. These show your logo and give details of the location and time of the event(s). We supply media images, a sample press release, and an ideas document for maximising publicity and participation.
