Our Get Cycling Support Visits are designed to demonstrate, inspire, motivate and inform. They can highlight any cycling to work initiative or programme you have, and can operate indoors if required. We bring:
ADVICE AND INFORMATION: one-to-one impartial advice on getting started with cycling. This includes our range of factsheets and our 32-page cycling guide for beginners. Plus, of course, any cycling local cycling guides and maps provided by yourselves.
BIKE DOCTOR: existing cyclists can bring their bikes along to our Bike Doctor for a maintenance check and some basic repairs/tips. Parts can be provided on an all-in basis to you the client, or cost price charges can be passed on to participants on the day.
BIKE TRY OUT: We bring samples of good commuter bikes and accessories for visitors to try out – included are some folding bikes such as Bromptons, and a few fun bikes to lighten the atmosphere and entice people from their workplaces.
PRESENTATIONS: We can also provide a range of multi-media presentations and materials; including a 20-minute presentation and discussion session entitled “An Introduction to Cycle Commuting”.
We can provide in advance promotional and publicity support to maximize participation on the day. We also provide an event planning guide to ensure all the bases are covered at your end.
The service becomes even more cost-effective, and has a higher publicity profile, if we come for a run of days at once, to a central location (such as a business park) or if we tour a local area, with a maximum of half a day at each location. Lower cost, greater outreach. Your local authority Travel Plan Officer may help with this financially.
You may wish to take things to the next level and consider a Cycle 50% Challenge!
