The Festival of Disability Cycling

John Charles (South Leeds) Stadium, Leeds. LS11 5DJ .  23rd and 24th September 2011

Harvey Haddon Stadium, Nottingham. NG8 4PB 25th and 26th September 2011

 The first Festival of Disability Cycling will be held over four days and two venues between 23rd and 26th of September. This event will promote the benefits of cycling to people with disabilities allowing them to try out the widest range of adapted cycles brought together at a single event in the UK.

The event is aimed at individuals, families, schools, support organisations and healthcare professionals and will actively encourage people to give cycling a go rather than just look at the bikes. With a wide range of other fun activities also happening on the day it will be a great place to bring the family for a great day out.

Activities included

  • Over 100 bikes to try out : Tricycles, tandems,  tandem trikes, hand cycles, steer from rear cycles, trailer bikes, quadricycles, companion cycles, wheelchair tandems, recumbants, KMX karts and conventional bikes as well.
  • Adaptations explained
  • Megabike rides
  • Pedal Powered Scalextric Racing
  • Funding advice
