Sunny Nindo Too E-Drive Tandem Trike

£5,367.46 (ex. VAT)

The Nijland Sunny Nindo Too E-Drive Tandem tricycle is similar to the Sunny Nindo Too Tandem tricycle, but with an electric PAS motor making it much easier to pedal with less effort.

We have started binging in this steer-from-the-rear tandem trike from Holland as we could find nothing like it in the UK. Our Chief Exec has a son with Down’s Syndrome and they ride nothing else now. The Nijland Nindo 2 is designed with a parent/carer and companion in mind, whereby the rear person can take care of the steering. The main advantage of having a rear-steering tandem over normal tandems is the parent/carer sitting at the rear can see and communicate with their child/companion much more easily. Having three wheels means this tandem is much more stable especially when dismounting, there is also a two-wheeled version. The front position is for a child up to approx 10 years old, there is another version, the Nando Too, which is for a larger child on the front. An ingenious built in coupling system between the two riders makes it possible to disengage the pedalling for the front rider using a lever on the rear handlebars. So he or she can be obliged to pedal, or allowed to freewheel. There is also a footrest for the front rider.

The Sunny Nindo 2 comes equipped with standard features like a Shimano 7-speed hub, freewheel, limited turning angle, large rear basket, bicycle lock, enclosed chain guard, parking brake, saddle-bag, battery operated lights and differential. The differential is important; it means you have drive on both rear wheels and consequentially less tyre wear. This is a quality machine made to Dutch standards, and will last for decades.

All kinds of adaptations, such as back supports, can be fitted. See the special needs adaptations section.
