We have worked with hundreds of unis and colleges and are members of the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges.
Our roadshow unit for the FE sector is staffed by student-friendly experts, bringing a variety of information handouts, appealing publications, examples of cycling accessories and, of course, cycles, which anyone on campus can try out. Staff and students can have their own bike attended to by our ‘bicycle doctor’ service, and be shown some basic maintenance tips. This service becomes more cost-effective, and has a higher publicity profile if we come for a run of two or three days at once, to a central location on campus. Alternatively bookings involving a run of regular days (eg the first Friday in the month), create a pattern in students’ minds.
We have also run effective cycling challenge programmes: the most recent at Dundee University.
Our Unibikes programme gives students a new, fully-equipped bike ready for them on the first day of term. We support with coaching, get into- cycling classes and bike checkups on campus. There’s also an optional bike buy-back at the end of summer term. We have a wide range of other tried and tested services for colleges and universities.
